Inside Sales Representative

Currently, we are looking to add to our Edmonton sales team with the following position:
Inside Sales Representative
As a member of our Inside Sales team, your key responsibilities will be to develop relationships with new and existing customers, and achieve sales goals through prospecting and positioning of technical voice and/or data product solutions. An electrical or electronic background and/or success in a sales environment is an asset, and you should be comfortable in a teleprospecting role.
Primary Role: To provide customer service and support to new and existing customers, and generate new sales opportunities. The role is comprised of 3 main activities:
Outbound prospecting/Appointment generation:
- Uncover the need for all Westcan products and Services through outbound teleprospecting and appointment generation for the outside sales team.
- Place follow up calls on all direct mail and E-based campaigns
- Follow up on leads generated from service, trade shows, referrals etc.
- Contact inactive and prospective customers and update information on account profile, and customer data base
Add-on Radio and Accessory Sales:
- Provide instant quotations for all add on products
- Provide instant ordering of product
- Create sales orders for add on products
- Place outbound calls to existing customers prospecting for add on sales including maintenance agreements, accessory and battery replacement, and notify customers of warranty or contract expiration.
- Place outbound calls to existing customers prospecting for rental business by targeting seasonal events such as plant shutdowns, festivals and conventions
- Follow up on lost sales
Customer Service:
- Field inbound sales calls
- Solve customer problems with limited call backs and message taking
- Promote the sale of maintenance contracts and service products to assure a high level of customer satisfaction
- Assist customers in solving billing discrepancies, contract renewals and delivery concerns
- Provide first echelon support for product and system related problems
- Call new customers, thank them for their business and follow up on satisfaction regarding coverage, installation and invoice etc.
- Provide on-the-spot over the phone product training for end customer end users
Qualifications and Related Work Experience
The successful candidate must have:
- A minimum of 2 years of sales experience
- Excellent phone and communications skills
- Excellent computer skills including MS Office, Word, Excel
- Enjoy working in an office environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Be comfortable in a support role
- Have a competitive nature
- Have strong work ethic and common business sense
